Stedin – a subsidiary of Eneco Holding – operates and maintain a significant public utility network database in the Netherlands, including gas network, high-, medium-, and low voltage electric network, district-heating and telecommunication network


  • The enrichment of the earlier incorrectly or incompletely converted data, resolution of the database’s inconsistency
  • Preparation of go-live

The main purpose of the project was to deeply analyse the migrated database, to perform a suitable quality final state, to validate new source data and perform change management. The project aim was to bring up network quality and providing high quality data.
In this project the following subtasks were completed:

  • 1st part: comparison of new source data with each other and the processed data already migrated in database; the detailed analysis of the migrated database, exploration and correction of failures; standardization and arrangement of type and code tables, definition of manually and automated process.
  • 2nd part: execution of revision works on the basis of DIASYS (house connection database) source data, considering the result of comparison of old and new data; automatic and manual processing of house connection’s sketches on the basis of categorized data.
  • 3rd part: execution of change management on the basis of INSTAP (Microstation) source data, considering the result of comparison of old and new data; in this phase main segment network projects were processed.
  • 4th part: execution of revision works on the basis of failure list.

The scope of the project was to put the complete gas database in live operation. This project was the final process of the arrangement concerning the complete gas network database of the processed area.
The project started in April 2009 and finished in September 2009.
